Privacy Policy

What this covers

This policy explains what information Ledgerhome collects when you use the Service, how it's used, and how you can control it. This policy — and the Service itself — is currently intended for residents of the United States and Canada. If that changes, we'll update this policy to reflect any additional regional privacy rights that apply.

Information we collect

Account information: your email address, and either a password or your Google account identity, depending on how you sign in.

Home profile data: details you provide about your home — state, zip code, year built, square footage, roof and heating type, and whether it has a basement or pool.

Cost estimates and maintenance data: the project types, quantities, and quality tiers you select when generating an estimate, the resulting estimate, and the maintenance tasks and completion history generated for your home.

Billing information: if you upgrade to Premium, Stripe processes your payment directly. We store only your Stripe customer and subscription IDs and plan status — never your full card number.

How we use it

We use this information to run the Service: generating your cost estimates and maintenance schedule, keeping your account secure, processing Premium payments, sending maintenance reminder emails you're due for, and responding when you contact us. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.

Third-party services

The Service relies on a small number of providers to work: Supabase (accounts and database), Stripe (payments), Resend (maintenance reminder emails), Google (if you choose to sign in with Google, and for analytics if you accept our cookie banner), and Vercel (hosting). Each only receives the data it needs to perform its part of the Service.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. It's essential to the Service working and isn't used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

If you accept our cookie banner, we also use Google Analytics to understand how the Service is used. This sets an analytics cookie and shares limited, aggregated usage data with Google; it's not used for advertising, and Google never receives your name or email. You can decline this, or change your mind later via "Cookie Settings" in the footer — the Service works the same either way.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account and home data for as long as your account is active. To request deletion or an export of your data, contact us at notifications@getledgerhome.com and we'll process it promptly.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you're a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you additional rights over your personal information, described below.

Categories of personal information we collect. Based on the categories defined by California law, we collect:

Identifiers: your email address, and your Google account identifier if you sign in with Google.

Commercial information: the home profile details you provide (state, zip code, year built, square footage, roof and heating type, basement/pool), the cost estimates and maintenance tasks generated for your home, and your subscription plan and status.

Internet or network activity: a session cookie needed to keep you signed in, and, only if you accept our cookie banner, Google Analytics usage data (pages visited, general device/browser info). We don't use advertising trackers.

We don't collect biometric information, precise geolocation, or any of the other categories defined by California law.

Your rights. California residents have the right to:

Know/Access: request what personal information we've collected about you and why.

Delete: request deletion of your personal information (see "Data retention and deletion" above for how).

Correct: request correction of inaccurate personal information.

Opt out of sale or sharing: see below.

Non-discrimination: we won't deny you service, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of service for exercising any of these rights.

We do not sell or share your personal information. "Sell" and "share" have specific legal definitions under California law, broader than the everyday meaning of "sell" — but under either definition, we don't sell or share your personal information with third parties for money or for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because of that, there's no "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link on this site — there's nothing to opt out of.

Canadian Privacy Rights (PIPEDA)

If you're in Canada, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) gives you rights over your personal information, and the same practices described throughout this policy apply to you: we only collect what the Service needs to work, we don't sell your data, and we secure it the same way regardless of where you live.

Your rights. You have the right to know what personal information we hold about you and why, to access and request a copy of it, to request correction of inaccurate information, and to withdraw consent for its collection or use at any time (though this may limit what the Service can do for you — e.g. we can't generate a cost estimate without a home profile). To exercise any of these rights, contact us at notifications@getledgerhome.com.

If you believe we haven't handled your personal information in accordance with PIPEDA, you have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Security

We rely on Supabase and Stripe's security infrastructure — including encryption in transit and at rest — to protect your data, and we scope database access so you can only ever read or modify your own homes, estimates, and maintenance tasks.

Children's privacy

The Service is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
